SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None. 

SUMMARY

The Business Analyst reports to the Evaluation Director and is a key connector between the Finance

Department and the rest of the Organization. The Business Analyst is responsible for carrying out

performance improvement projects, working with financial and statistical data, performing business

calculations and reporting recommendations, leading systems implementation and working effectively with

all levels of the organization.

Assist in the fulfillment of the Organization’s vision and mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Evaluates business processes, anticipates requirements, discovers areas for improvement, and develops

and implements solutions.

Develops recommendations regarding organizational operations for executive review.

Monitors and tracks loan accounts to ensure timely payments, compliance with terms, and accurate

recordkeeping.

Assists in the resolution of loan servicing issues by analyzing account discrepancies and recommending

corrective actions.

Performs complex financial analyses requiring interpretation of multiple data sources.

Independently identifies operational risks and develops mitigation strategies.

Advises executive leadership regarding business process improvements.

Determines appropriate analytical methodologies.

Designs reporting structures and performance metrics.

Develops executive dashboards and program/department performance metrics.

Conducts KPI reporting.

Develops financial and operational forecasts to assess the potential impacts of proposed initiatives,

organizational changes, and strategic decisions.

Evaluates business and financial alternatives by analyzing costs, benefits, risks, and operational impacts to

support informed decision-making.

Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness and provides data-driven

recommendations to enhance business processes, financial performance, and organizational outcomes.

Documents and performs business requirements analysis.

Collects, analyzes, and reports on organizational data for business opportunities.

Leads projects and collaborates with other teams to improve business outcomes.

Responsible for ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies.

Leads meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.

Manages projects, develops project plans, and monitors performance.

Recommends, updates, and implements new systems, procedures, or changes.

Analyzes, maintains, and reports on operating budget data, develops forecasting models, and identifies

budget variances requiring management attention.

Utilizes advanced financial, operational, and business analytical methodologies to evaluate organizational

performance and support strategic decision-making.

Travels for work related business using personal/organization vehicle.

Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

Works evenings and weekends as required.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or General

Management or related field required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of five (5) years related work experience.

Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience preferred.

Experience with participant data and/or central intake solutions strongly preferred.

Experience with business intelligence solutions preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Effective communication skills (verbal and writing) including conveying insights, ideas, and

recommendations; presentation and teaching skills.

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Must have the ability to work independently and on a team.

Relationship-building skills with all levels of staff.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel and Powerpoint).

Strong time and project management skills.

Detail oriented, analytical, and inquisitive.

Strong understanding and mapping of workflow designs.

Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Willing to work non-traditional hours and days to meet the needs of this position.

Maintain a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance in compliance with

state law, and meet the organization’s insurance requirements for operating organization vehicles.

Pass a criminal background investigation and credit history check. Maintain criminal clearance and

acceptable credit history.
