About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Ability to read telemetry strips. Experience with common diagnoses including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, and abdominal pain. Description: The unit consists of 32 total beds, including stepdown and floor patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for stepdown and 1:4-6 for floor patients. RNs are required to titrate certain drips. Charge nurses are on shift, and house supervisors are always available. Registered nurses are responsible for continuous monitoring and reading telemetry strips. There may be a requirement to float to any floor or stepdown unit as needed. Scrub color/dress code is royal blue. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as needed. The charting system in use is EPIC.
