This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact, complex litigation matters in a collaborative and mission-driven environment.About the PracticeThis practice group is widely recognized for handling complex, crisis-driven litigation across a range of cutting-edge areas, including:Constitutional law with social justice componentsWildfire and disaster-related litigationCOVID-19-related litigationCivil rights claims in the land use contextFirst Amendment and takings claimsClass action litigationEminent domain matters involving major infrastructure projects (transit, stadiums, and public works)Attorneys are actively involved in all phases of litigation, from initial pleadings through discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal in both state and federal courts.Position OverviewThe firm is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented, and strategic litigator who thrives in complex legal environments. This role offers the opportunity to:Develop and execute litigation strategy in high-stakes mattersWork closely with public entity clientsPresent sophisticated constitutional arguments in a clear and persuasive mannerCollaborate with a highly respected litigation teamKey ResponsibilitiesManage complex litigation matters from inception through resolutionDraft and argue motions, including dispositive motionsConduct and manage all phases of discovery, including e-discoveryDevelop case strategy and support trial preparationHandle law and motion practice in both state and federal courtsWork directly with public entity clients, including cities, counties, and special districtsParticipate in trial and appellate work as neededQualifications3–7 years of litigation experienceExperience representing public entity clients requiredStrong knowledge of: government claims procedures, constitutional and statutory defenses, litigation involving municipalities and public agenciesDemonstrated experience with: complex litigation management, motion practice, discovery (including e-discovery)Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skillsAbility to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentWork Environment & BenefitsHybrid work schedule (remote flexibility + in-office collaboration)Competitive compensation and bonus structureComprehensive benefits package, including: health insurance, 401(k) with partial match and profit sharing, annual discretionary and billable hours bonusesCompensation$185,000 – $245,000 base salaryCompensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and location
