The Shoreview Community Center is hiring for the Wave Caf position.

Job Description

* Weekend shifts are required * The Shoreview Community Center is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors to our facility each year. The Wave Caf serves a variety of beverages, snacks and refreshments. Shoreview employs 8-10 people to staff the Wave Caf. Attendants need to be cheerful and friendly in this very visible position. The orientation program trains new employees on how to prepare the food, operate the cash register and perform other expected duties. Shirts are provided to employees.

Duties Include

• Prepare food orders in a busy setting
• Operate cash register
• Maintain a clean work area
• Stock supplies
• Clean tables and keep lobby area neat

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old
• Ability to lift and move 30 pounds
• Ability to operate a cash register or willingness to learn
• Skills in customer service
• Ability to follow proper food handling procedures

We're currently hiring daytime, evening and weekend hours. Regular Caf hours are: Monday - Friday: 3pm - 7pm Saturday: 12pm - 7pm Sunday: 12pm - 6pm *These hours are subject to change. *** FREE Community Center Membership! *** PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a busy caf environment and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting or carrying food, supplies, trays, and other items weighing up to approximately 30 pounds. The position requires frequent use of hands and arms to prepare and serve food, operate a cash register, clean tables and work areas, and stock supplies. Employees may be exposed to hot food and beverages, cooking equipment, wet or slippery surfaces, cleaning products, and varying levels of noise. Employees must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing courteous customer service and following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
