• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Supervise the direct activities of the shipping & receiving team, including quality and efficiency
• Maintain department's procedural documents and provide appropriate training to all team members
• Coordinate daily assignment to ensure compliance with established schedules, report any deviations, assist in scheduling corrective actions and recommend and implement work schedule adjustments as needed
• Corroborate orders are shipping on scheduled dates and/or meet requested delivery dates
• Maintain internal communication with Production, Customer Service, and Scheduling regarding order shipment status, and/or any delays or changes in the shipment schedule
• Validate all finished goods in shipping are in accordance to the 5S standards and established procedures
• Successfully complete specific projects or responsibilities assigned by the Operations Manager efficiently and in a timely manner.

• Resolve freight discrepancies over items such as charges, damages, loss, etc.

• Maintain compliance with 49 CFR/IATA/IMDG regulations

• Negotiate LTL and FTL freight contractors to maintain cost effective rates

• Monitor the unloading of all materials into the receiving and ensures receiving reports accurately report material received; resolve and discrepancies with purchasing regarding invoices, packaging slips, and receiver reports

• Ensures the rotation of inventories within the warehouse

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is position requires moderate physical exertion including: sitting 10%, standing and walking 80%, and squatting, kneeling, or twisting 10% and involves the following requirements:

• Lifting Requirements of 50lbs maximum and 20lbs frequently
• Visual Requirements include the ability to read work orders, blue prints, schematics, measuring devices, computer printouts and spreadsheet applications
• This position may require the use of personal protective equipment which could include safety glasses and safety shoes, depending on the nature of the work
