Packaging Operator I – Packaging Operations

Location: Mebane, NC
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Overtime: Required as needed

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Operator I to support packaging operations in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for performing routine packaging tasks while following standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety guidelines. The ideal candidate will work effectively in a team environment while maintaining a strong focus on product quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine packaging operations by following established SOPs and work instructions.
• Prepare, stage, and replenish packaging materials for production.
• Package, label, and inspect products to ensure quality standards are met.
• Conduct visual inspections and identify any quality concerns, reporting issues to supervisors.
• Collect product samples for quality verification according to documented procedures.
• Complete packaging documentation and production logs accurately.
• Palletize finished products according to company standards and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Perform routine cleaning of packaging equipment and workstations.
• Follow all safety procedures and housekeeping requirements.
• Assist with additional production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of manufacturing or production experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to recognize deviations from specifications and report concerns.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows-based systems.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to interpret simple diagrams, charts, and perform basic math calculations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed to meet production demands.
• Regular and dependable attendance is required.
