At Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital the RN for Rehab administers patient care in an inpatient/observation setting where an acute care patient receives active treatment for an injury, episode of illness, a medical condition, or post‑intervention. The unit is a 30‑bed unit with a 6:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio and is CARF accredited. The focus of our team is to prepare patients for their return home with the involvement of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Respect diversity and build respectful relationships with all team members and customers. Act as a patient and family advocate. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care in the unit/department. Serve as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician. Communicate and collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department. Act as a role model for staff and support hospital and nursing department goals and strategies. Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan; assess data reflective of patient status and interpret necessary information relative to patient age‑specific needs. Coordinate care and delegate appropriately to other team members for a defined group of patients. Document patient care consistently, meeting all regulatory standards—including assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety. Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and use of unit equipment as defined by unit/department requirements. Prioritize patient care continuously in accordance with evidence‑based practice standards of care. Practice effective problem identification and resolution. Delegate tasks and duties to team members in accordance with patient needs and member capabilities and qualifications. Communicate appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health‑care team members. Demonstrate caring practices by providing a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. Demonstrate awareness of legal issues and patients’ rights. Collaborate with the education department and nursing leadership to transition and support new team members and/or students. Maintain compliance with all Baptist Health and Orlando Health policies and procedures. Partner with nursing leadership to identify professional development needs. Qualifications Education/Training: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and assigned unit/department. Licensure/Certification: Maintains current State of Alabama RN license or valid NLC_multistate RN license. Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
