Are you seeking a dynamic leadership role that combines systems analysis, team development, and collaboration across business and technology partners? The Enterprise Tax Systems Bureau (ETSB) is looking for an engaged and motivated Information Technology Supervisor II to lead a team of Business and Systems Analysts who provide critical support for Franchise Tax Board's (FTB’s) Taxpayer Folder and Enterprise Noticing Services (ENS) applications. Under the general direction of the IT Manager I, the Supervisor independently plans, organizes, and directs the work of the analyst team to ensure system functionality, application behavior, and data processes meet departmental needs.

The Supervisor establishes communication standards, defines roles and responsibilities, reinforces procedures, and monitors compliance with approved processes to maintain consistent, high-quality system support. This position plays a key role in coordinating work across Technology Services Division teams, business partners, and other stakeholders. The Supervisor ensures analysts collaborate effectively with business users, developers, QA staff, and technical groups to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and support enhancements for Taxpayer Folder, ENS, and related enterprise systems.

The Systems Analysis Supervisor also represents ETSB in divisional and departmental meetings, providing insight, recommendations, and subject-matter guidance on system and data administration needs. The Supervisor develops team goals and objectives, evaluates performance, determines staffing levels, recruits skilled talent, and ensures training plans support evolving business and technology requirements. The role also participates on special project teams with divisional, departmental, and statewide impact, contributes to estimates for business and resource planning, and fosters a cooperative, professional, and inclusive environment aligned with FTB’s core competencies and values.

Work is performed in support of FTB’s mission to serve taxpayers and deliver high-quality services. The Supervisor promotes strong working relationships, encourages staff development, and supports operational needs. The position provides services within the IT domain of Software Engineering and plays a vital role in maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of FTB’s enterprise systems and programs.
