Location: Florida Oncology and Hematology Pay Range: $26.22 - $48.71 Job Description Summary Provides safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including but not limited to: patient assessment, review of labs and vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follows all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with role. Provides triage care when necessary. Communicates patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Key Performance Areas Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents to patients as ordered by providers. Use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Accurate and safe disposal of biohazardous waste, per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines. Document thorough, accurate and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) of treatment rendered. Ensure appropriate charges are captured by following guidelines for appropriate administration of all medications and activities. Follow proper patient identification per JBI for all patient encounters. Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and planned treatment course. Interact with patients and family in a caring, professional manner. Telephone triage: Prioritize incoming calls and messages from patients, family members, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices from emergent to non‑urgent, respond accordingly in an appropriate timeframe. Assist with inventory and re‑stocking medical supplies, recommend purchase of new items as needed, place stock in storage areas in a timely manner. Complete annual required safety and nursing trainings, attend mandatory staff meetings as necessary. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information. Assist in training new employees related to job duties according to JBIs. Work at any company location as needed, including overtime with sufficient notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to patient privacy, patient’s rights, personnel law, safety, labor, and employment law. Adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Plan. Job Qualifications and Requirements Education: Nursing Degree. Certifications/Licenses: Unencumbered RN license in state of employment or multi‑state license, current CPR and BLS certifications, valid driver’s license and vehicle. Previous Experience: Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting, ability to assess patient needs and condition, strong critical thinking skills, ability to react calmly in emergency situations, fluency in English, excellent oral and written communication. Computer Skills Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. EMR travel Standard Core Workdays/Hours Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be required, weekend shifts based on location hours and operational needs.
