Position Title: Warehouse Equipment Operations
Location: Compton, Ca
Shift: 8am-430pm with overtime
Requirements: 1 year of experience
Position: sit-down and/or clamp forklift equipment (Slip Sheet)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Equipment Operator is responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the forklift and may also be required to perform order filler or order checker duties in addition to his or her own. This position is responsible for operating a sit-down and/or clamp forklift equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using a forklift, clamp, push-pull equipment
o Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations
o Pulls and prepares products for shipment
o Ensures that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped
o Maintains appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory control and security
o Palletizing, shrink wrapping & labeling orders
o Stage freight and orders for loading
o Move cargo in/out of warehouse for storage
o Clean up, maintain, and move debris from work areas to dumpsters
o Responsible for quality control, no damaged product is loaded out unless proper authorization is given by the customer
o Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
o Operate forklift, hostler truck, top pick, and other types of machinery
o Check equipment for proper operation and do daily report
o Must be able to complete inspection form prior operating equipment
o Must be able to use RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory
o Strong attention to details
o Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, & QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum one year Warehouse experience
o Basic reading and writing skills in English
o Basic arithmetic skills
o Equipment certification required (for machines being operated)
o Forklift operator - must have had previous experience and be certified
o Ability to lift maximum of 50 pounds
o Basic knowledge of over the road weight restrictions

o Regular bending, lifting, stretching, twisting, climbing, and reaching both below the waist and above the head
o Physically able to stand for long periods of time
o Walking in the distribution center and around area with great frequency, facilities are over a quarter mile in length
o Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions and temperature variation and able to access all areas of building without limitations
o Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
o Strong initiative, ability to work independently
o Possess the ability to work with and interact as a member of a team
o Be familiar with the type of equipment being assign to
