Shift Information

Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM

Unit Information

Unit Type: ICU
Number of Beds: 38
Trauma Center Level: II
Patient Types: General mixed ICU including Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, and Neurosurgery patients.
Special Procedures: Post-Operative open-heart patients, VV and VA ECMO, Balloon pump, Impella, and CRRT.
Staffing: 125 staff members including 1 Charge Nurse and 16-18 staff on both Day and Night shifts.
Patient Ratios: 2:1 or 1:1 depending on acuity.

NICOM EMR - Meditech

Qualifications

Required Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year of current acute care ICU hospital experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
Preferred Skills:
- Prior Meditech experience
- CVICU/CTICU experience (Care of the immediate post-operative open heart surgery patient)

Typical Procedures Performed on Unit

Bedside procedures such as Bronchoscopy, GI Scopes, and Chest Tube Insertion
Insertion of Arterial and Central lines
Airway care and frequent drip titrations
