Northwest HealthCare, six miles west, offers 24‑hour emergency care, a Sleep Disorders Center, and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Progressive Care Unit is a 40‑bed unit dedicated primarily to cardiac and pulmonary patients. It is located on the 7th floor and offers cardiac monitoring for all patients. A ten‑bed Respiratory Care Unit provides care for individuals with chronic lung illnesses. The unit is staffed by RNs, PCAs, and clerical associates. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on illness or injury management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
