About the Position

Job Title: Travel RN - Orthopedic Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Orthopedic Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care hospital as an Orthopedic RN License: RN License Certifications: BLS Preferred; ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Minimum of 1 year experience in an acute care hospital as an Ortho RN. BLS certification. Description: This is a travel RN position specializing in orthopedic surgery. The unit has a total of 30 beds with a staffing structure that includes 1 Charge RN, 4-6 bedside RNs, and 2-4 Patient Care Technicians. The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:5 or 1:6. Common types of equipment used in this unit include Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machines for specialty surgeries, nerve block pumps, and On-Q balls. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system utilized is Meditech. The ideal candidate should possess skills in IV starts, Foley/Straight catheterization, and CPM application. Early mobilization is emphasized in patient care. The team values a positive attitude and teamwork. There is a dedicated nursing team focused on providing excellent patient experience and quality outcomes. The unit serves a diverse patient population, including elective orthopedic patients and orthopedic trauma patients.
