Air Conditioning Mechanic II

The University is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician II to join our Facilities Services team. This mid-level position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems across academic buildings, laboratories, residence halls, athletic facilities, and administrative spaces.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

- High school diploma or GED. Technical school training or three (3) years of HVAC employment/field experience. EPA Section 608 Universal Certification. Working knowledge of HVAC controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration principles. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-related equipment issues. Ability to read and follow technical instructions and maintenance procedures. Available and willing to work after-hours on-call duty, on a rotating basis with other shop personnel. Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a driver's license within 90 days of employment?

Preferred Qualifications - Experience working in a university, government, or large institutional environment. Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS), such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric. Additional certifications such as HVAC Excellence, NATE, or trade licenses. Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.
