Step into a pivotal role supporting students ages K through 22 with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This contract position, set from August 31, 2026, to June 25, 2027, offers an exceptional opportunity to apply your Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) expertise in a dynamic school-based environment near Warwick, RI.
Essential Qualifications:
- Active and current BCBA certification.
- Demonstrated experience conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and developing effective, data-driven behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Previous work supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an educational setting.
- Adept at training and supporting educators and classroom staff in the implementation of behavioral supports.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers, therapists, and families.
Key Duties:
- Complete comprehensive FBAs and design individualized BIPs rooted in best practices.
- Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and support to teachers, assistants, and classroom staff on behavior plan implementation.
- Deliver direct assistance during behavioral crises, focusing on proactive de-escalation and using least restrictive interventions per Safety-Care protocols.
- Work closely with related service providers and families, ensuring a united approach to student achievement.
- Regularly gather and analyze student data to inform behavioral programming and measured progress.
- Contribute to planning and participating in professional development opportunities within the school community.
