Steward

The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen equipment, dishware, utensils, and back-of-house areas. This position plays a critical role in supporting kitchen operations by ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient working environment while adhering to all health and safety standards.

• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen, storage, and stewarding areas.

• Properly dispose of trash and recycling and transport waste to designated areas.

• Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors throughout the kitchen and back-of-house spaces.

• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, walls, shelving, and other food preparation areas.

• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as directed.

• Restock clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment to designated locations.

• Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines.

• Support kitchen staff by maintaining an adequate supply of clean equipment during service.

• Follow all company policies, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and health department regulations.

• Report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns to management promptly.

• Assist with deep-cleaning projects and special cleaning assignments as needed.

• Previous steward, dishwasher, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices preferred.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.

• Ability to work in hot, wet, and humid conditions.
• Ability to safely operate dishwashing and cleaning equipment..
