Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join a financial services organization in Pleasant Hill, California. This Long-term Contract position is suited for someone who can manage core accounting activities, support timely close processes, and deliver accurate reporting in a fast-moving environment. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple entities while partnering with operational and leadership teams to strengthen financial visibility and control.Responsibilities:• Record and post journal entries while maintaining accurate general ledger activity across assigned accounts and entities.• Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and meeting reporting deadlines.• Perform detailed reconciliations for bank accounts, credit card transactions, and intercompany balances, resolving discrepancies promptly.• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts, identify unusual fluctuations, and provide clear variance analysis to stakeholders.• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and internal management reports that support informed business decisions.• Track and account for sales, cash activity, inventory movements, and operating expenses within a high-volume, multi-location setting.• Help uphold internal controls and accounting procedures by ensuring transactions are recorded consistently and in compliance with policy.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to provide timely financial information, audit support, and process improvement recommendations.
