Position Summary Tomassi Law is seeking a dedicated and experienced Managing Attorney to lead and oversee our bustling Real Estate Division. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day real estate operations, supervising paralegals and support staff, reviewing complex titles, and ensuring seamless execution of residential and commercial closings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong team leader, and deeply knowledgeable in Rhode Island real estate law and title examination. Key Responsibilities Division Leadership & Management: Direct the workflow and daily operations of the real estate division, providing guidance and mentorship to paralegals, title processors, and administrative staff. Title Review & Examination: Review and analyze complex title abstracts, resolve title defects, clear encumbrances, and issue title insurance commitments and policies. Closing Oversight & Execution: Oversee the closing process from contract to post-closing, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations, lender instructions, and firm quality standards. Conduct closings as needed. Client & Partner Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for real estate brokers, agents, lenders, buyers, and sellers, fostering referral networks and maintaining exceptional client satisfaction. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all closing documents, settlement statements (HUD/CDs), and deeds are accurate, compliant, and executed in a timely manner. Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine division procedures, leveraging technology to maximize efficiency and client experience. Qualifications & Requirements Licensure: Active and in good standing with the Rhode Island Bar Association. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of dedicated professional experience handling real estate titles, title examination, and closing transactions. Technical Proficiency: Hands‑on experience with modern closing and title management software, specifically Qualia. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage, supervise, and inspire a team of legal professionals in a fast‑paced environment. Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with a client‑first mindset.
