Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1 year of experience to join our team. First-time travelers are welcomed, while charge nurse experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will primarily care for adult to geriatric patients.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide thorough nursing care to patients with various medical-surgical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and patient management.
• Implement and follow isolation precautions and infection control measures.
• Manage wound care, including the use of wound vacs, and conduct feeding tube care and management.
• Assist with respiratory support, including nasal cannula and high flow nasal cannula.
• Perform IV starts and contribute to PICC line management.
• Administer blood products as per protocols and guidelines.

Patient Ratio and Census

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6, with an average daily census of 29 patients across 32 rooms.

Working Environment

• Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00).
• Required to work every other weekend unless specified otherwise.
• Floating may be required within the facility as per the scope of practice.

Compliance and Orientation

Full compliance is required prior to starting the position. Orientation follows a bi-weekly schedule, and any non-compliance may result in a pushback of two weeks.

Holiday Requirements

The traveler is expected to work during major holidays if they fall within their assignment period. Responsibilities may include working up to two of the major holidays listed below:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required prior to employment.

Additional Information

Scrub color required is Navy Blue. Candidates should be aware of blackout dates for requested time off (RTO), specifically during Spring Break (April 4th-12th).
