Make a significant difference in the lives of students as a School Psychologist in the vibrant community near West Hartford, CT. This onsite contract opportunity lets you contribute your expertise in two well-supported school settings, helping young people thrive during pivotal academic periods. There are two positions available, each providing a unique chance to collaborate with dedicated educators and supportive teams.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Connecticut School Psychologist License (required)
- Previous experience assessing and counseling school-aged children
- Strong skills in psycho-educational evaluations, crisis intervention, and special education processes
- Excellent communication and collaborative abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Adaptability and organizational strengths to manage caseloads effectively
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct mental health support, counseling, and consultative services to students
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for special education eligibility, including FBA/BIP development
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement effective interventions
- Attend and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) and related meetings
- Support crisis response efforts and foster positive school climates
- Serve as an advocate for student well-being and academic success
