About the Position

Job Title: Acute Rehab Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Rehabilitation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:00 - 18:30) Experience: 1-2 years recent rehab experience required License: Active Indiana or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Previous travel experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Meditech charting experience preferred - References required from a direct supervisor within the last 12 months Description: The position is for an Acute Rehab Registered Nurse in a hospital inpatient setting. The schedule is day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The nurse will be required to work every other weekend and holiday. The role involves taking care of adult and geriatric patients in an acute rehab unit. Responsibilities include blood glucose monitoring, management of ports, and care for patients with CVA. The nurse will conduct fall risk assessments, manage feeding tubes, and remove Foley catheters. Administering insulin protocols and applying isolation precautions will be part of the duties. Pain assessment and management, patient teaching, and pressure ulcer assessment are also essential. Experience with wound care and swallowing precautions is necessary. Interdisciplinary support will include collaboration with physical therapy and respiratory services. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in scheduling may be required, including the possibility of travel pairs.
