About Momoya SoHo
Located in the heart of SoHo, Momoya SoHo is a well-established Japanese restaurant known for its refined approach to traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine. For over a decade, we have been dedicated to providing exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and an elevated dining experience.
We are currently seeking an experienced Maître d' to join our front-of-house leadership team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys creating memorable guest experiences, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant.
Responsibilities
Greet and welcome guests with warmth and professionalism
Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating using Resy and SevenRooms
Coordinate seating to maximize guest flow and dining room efficiency
Lead and support the host team during service
Communicate effectively with managers, servers, and the kitchen
Handle guest requests, VIP reservations, and service recovery with professionalism
Ensure the entrance and host stand remain organized, clean, and welcoming
Uphold Momoya's standards of hospitality and guest service
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maître d' or Host in a high-volume restaurant
Experience using Resy and/or SevenRooms preferred
Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Professional appearance and polished demeanor
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Weekend and evening availability required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
