Investment Banking Analyst

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit an Investment Banking Analyst to join their team. Our client is an established boutique investment banking firm that advises founder- and family-owned businesses on mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career finance professional to gain hands-on experience across the full M&A lifecycle. The Investment Banking Analyst will conduct financial and market analysis, prepare transaction materials, coordinate due diligence, and support senior deal professionals in delivering successful outcomes for clients. The position offers meaningful exposure to clients, business owners, and firm leadership within a collaborative, close-knit environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct company, industry, market, and buyer research to support M&A engagements and business development efforts. Analyze financial statements, company performance, and transaction opportunities. Prepare financial models, forecasts, valuations, and transaction scenarios. Track and analyze M&A activity and relevant market trends. Develop client-facing materials, including Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs), presentations, pitch books, and transaction summaries. Assist with buyer and seller outreach throughout the transaction process. Coordinate due diligence activities, document requests, and transaction timelines. Organize and maintain virtual data rooms and transaction documentation. Partner with senior deal professionals to manage engagement deliverables and workflow. Communicate professionally with clients, investors, advisors, and other transaction stakeholders. Support business planning, budgeting, and strategic financial analysis. Attend industry training sessions, networking events, and professional development opportunities. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Recent graduate or professional with approximately 0-2 years of relevant experience. Internship experience in investment banking, private equity, accounting, corporate finance, valuation, financial analysis, or transaction advisory strongly preferred. Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting fundamentals. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with complex formulas and financial modeling. Experience working with large datasets; exposure to macros is a plus. Strong PowerPoint skills and the ability to create polished client-facing presentations. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional presence and ability to interact with senior leaders and clients. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated interest in investment banking, mergers & acquisitions, private equity, or corporate finance. Ability and willingness to work on-site full-time.
