Employment Litigation Attorney

A respected mid-sized law firm in Seattle is seeking an Employment Litigation Attorney to join its growing labor and employment practice. Position Overview

The Employment Litigation Attorney will represent employers in a broad range of workplace disputes and employment-related matters. The ideal candidate will have experience managing litigation from inception through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in state and federal employment litigation matters
• Handle claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, wrongful termination, leave and accommodation matters, and other workplace disputes
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including case strategy, written discovery, depositions, motions, and settlement negotiations
• Conduct legal research and draft persuasive pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC, Washington Human Rights Commission, and Department of Labor
• Advise employers on employment law compliance, workplace policies, employee relations, and risk management issues
• Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial proceedings
• Collaborate with partners and clients to achieve favorable outcomes and provide exceptional client service
• Assist with business development and client relationship management efforts

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association, or ability to waive in promptly
• 2+ years of employment litigation experience preferred
• Experience handling employment law matters on behalf of employers
• Strong legal writing, research, and advocacy skills
• Deposition, mediation, and motion practice experience
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently while maintaining attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
• Trial experience is a plus but not required
