Commercial HVAC Project Technician (Level 3)

Overview POSITION SUMMARY: As a Level 3 Project Technician, you will use problem solving and troubleshooting to move projects toward completion with minimal supervision, while directing other team members. You will be proficient in installing materials and equipment needed to successfully complete a job and meet client expectations. Responsibilities Lead a team of intermediate and helper technicians to drive projects to completion. Read and interpret mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans; create takeoffs and material lists to execute the scope of work. Proficient in ductwork installation and airflow; understand system performance and HVAC optimization; operate and troubleshoot building automation controls systems. Install mechanical systems and components (refrigeration cycle, chilled water systems, pumps, cooling towers, valves, hot water systems, Variable Refrigerant Flow, VAV, VVT, and related equipment). Work unsupervised for extended periods; provide solutions to potential problems before they arise. Direct other team members and implement management direction without supervision. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; 5-7 years HVAC experience. Trade school preferred; EPA Universal Certification. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Proficient in mechanical system installation and electrical systems troubleshooting; strong understanding of system performance and building automation controls. Ability to read and comprehend mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans; effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and vendors.
