Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join a dynamic Finance team in Fort Wayne, IN. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain broad exposure across multiple business units, including general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities, with potential for permanent conversion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Code and record cash receipts accurately in the accounting system
  • Prepare deposits and maintain check logs
  • Review and reconcile carrier bonus statements
  • Finalize and verify cash receipt transactions
  • Prepare commission revenue accruals for multiple business units
  • Complete financial statement rollforwards
  • Support monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Assist with month-end close activities and account reconciliations
  • Partner with various departments on accounting and finance initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with account reconciliations
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Exposure to financial reporting and month-end accounting processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and critical-thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Great Plains / Dynamics GP
  • Commission accounting and revenue accruals experience
  • Month-end close experience
  • Background in financial services, insurance, or professional services
  • Interest in pursuing CPA certification
