Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (4x12, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every other weekend required | Contract options of 36 or 48 hours per week available | Overtime may be available after 48 hours for 4x12 schedules

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a diverse adult patient population ranging from uncomplicated to sub-critical acuity
• Monitor and care for patients utilizing continuous cardiac monitoring capabilities available at every bed
• Deliver post-operative care for transplant patients and any adult patient requiring cardiac monitoring
• Maintain a 1:5 patient ratio in accordance with unit standards
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; at least 1 year of Medical Surgical or Telemetry specialty experience
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record may be considered
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or major teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience caring for post-operative or transplant patients
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
