Beginning August 11th, 2026, and running through May 28th, 2027, this full-time contract role offers the chance to deliver individualized instruction and support in a vibrant school environment. Your expertise will help foster academic and personal growth for students in life skills, autism, or behavior-focused classrooms.
As a dedicated Special Education Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role in nurturing young learners by developing tailored lesson plans, collaborating with family members and colleagues, and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom. If you have a passion for empowering students with diverse needs and thrive in an elementary school setting, you’ll find this position deeply fulfilling.
Qualifications:
- Accredited bachelor’s degree
- Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certificate
- Experience in special education, particularly in life skills, autism, or behavioral support settings, is highly valued
- Strong collaborative, communication, and documentation skills
- Must complete Texas Education Agency (TEA) fingerprinting unless already cleared through recent public school employment (results may take up to 7 days before your start date)
Responsibilities:
- Support and teach a caseload of elementary students in specialized classrooms
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adapt strategies to meet their unique learning styles
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Collaborate with support personnel to create a safe, engaging learning atmosphere
