Verdantas is on the lookout for a driven Survey Technician to join our growing team in Newark, Ohio. As one of the nation's fastest-growing engineering and consulting firms, we're shaping the future of infrastructure-and this role is your chance to be on the front lines, turning data into impact on high-profile projects.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with field surveys to collect data on land features, boundaries, and topography in support of engineering and land development projects
• Operate and maintain survey equipment including GPS units, total stations, and levels
• Support the setup, calibration, and breakdown of survey instruments and field equipment
• Accurately record and document field data, notes, and measurements for project deliverables
• Assist in preparing survey reports, maps, and drawings based on collected field data
• Work closely with the Survey Crew Chief and team members to complete daily field tasks and project objectives
• Follow established survey standards, procedures, and project specifications to ensure data accuracy and quality
• Maintain a strong focus on safety by adhering to company policies and participating in daily safety practices in the field [
• Travel to project sites and perform work in outdoor environments across varying terrain and weather conditions
• Support general field operations including equipment care, site setup, and assisting the crew as needed

What You'll Bring:

• 1+ years of experience in land surveying, construction layout, or a related field preferred
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions
• Strong work ethic with a positive, team-first attitude
• Ability to take direction and support field crews effectively
• Good communication skills and a commitment to being a reliable teammate
• Basic understanding of surveying equipment (GPS, total station, data collectors) preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, walking long distances, and standing for extended periods
• High attention to detail and a willingness to learn and grow in the surveying field
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Salary Range:

The starting hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and experience.
