SEO- Communications and Outreach Intern

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Marketing & Outreach Manager of Student Engagement and Outreach (SEO), the Communications and Outreach Intern shall assist in planning to develop and execute a communication plan for an outside client contracted by ASI SEO. The Communications and Outreach Intern will be responsible for meeting deliverables and deadlines for the client(s) and reporting project updates to their supervisor. They will work closely with the rest of the internal team to produce quality deliverables for the contracted client.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop a communication and outreach strategy for the client.


• Develop content for the client, this can be in the form of blog posts, social media content

• Write copy for print or digital materials

• Draft press releases and draft media outreach lists

• Track and analyze communication and outreach data and document the success of the campaigns

• Capture onsite content for clients of venues, events and programming

• Participate in events in support of the client's campaign

• Perform various administrative functions including checking emails, copying, faxing, scanning, printing and using Microsoft systems.

• Establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with professional career staff and meet deadlines for all projects

• Other duties may be assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Sacramento State; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA overall (for Student Assistant incumbents)


• Must be organized, extremely detailed-oriented with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously


• Active and knowledgeable of all major social networks; Twitter (X), Facebook, Instagram


• Excellent written communication skills (Writing samples are required during interview)


• Proficiency in Macintosh (OSX) computers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong writing experience


• Experienced in Canva or Adobe Spark


• Photography and videography experience
