Emergency Room Registered Nurse - Night Shift (4x12-Hour)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, including every other weekend and every other holiday.

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients. This role requires a strong ability to assess and manage a variety of critical situations while maintaining effective communication with medical and support staff.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Manage care for diverse patient demographics including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' conditions, administering medical treatments as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Cerner charting system.
• Implement isolation precautions and manage specialized procedures including central line care and IV sedation.
• Support emergency response for trauma and critical care needs, including STEMI and stroke evaluations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• A minimum of 2 years of emergency room nursing experience, including at least 1 travel assignment.
• Active RN licensure in Maryland or a Compact state.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• Previous charge experience and a strong understanding of patient ratios and emergency care protocols.
