We are seeking a contract Operations Coordinator to oversee and enhance operational processes across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to executing operational tasks that align with team objectives. In this role, you will provide direct support for process improvements and internal and external initiatives, frequently navigating ambiguous environments.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute, organize, and streamline core operational tasks across the team.Monitor operations to identify potential issues, taking corrective action or escalating as appropriate.Maintain and organize information-sharing platforms and document repositories.Develop new tools to address organizational requirements and deliver technical support.Coordinate and facilitate team events and activities.Assist in the management and allocation of facility space.Qualifications5+ years of professional experience in operations (or equivalent) demonstrating sustained operational excellence.Proven project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.Proactive disposition with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Strong cross-functional collaboration skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across the organization.Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.Prior experience in a fast-paced research or product development environment.Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, or a related field; relevant professional experience will also be considered.Minimum Years of Experience: 5+Must-Have SkillsStrong interpersonal communication — must be sociable, approachable, and comfortable interacting with everyone from junior employees to VPs.Strong written communication — clear, professional documentation and correspondence across a research org.Hands-on operational execution — willingness to personally do the physical/logistical work (event setup, equipment distribution, lab logistics, onboarding/offboarding walkthroughs), plus the organization and project-management discipline to juggle multiple priorities.Nice-to-Have SkillsPrevious contractor or employee experience (explicitly a nice-to-have, not a disqualifier).Prior experience in a fast-paced research, hardware, or product-development environment.Tool/process building — creating lightweight tools, trackers, and documentation repositories to solve org needs.Degrees / CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, or a related field; relevant professional experience will also be considered.Key Projects / Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesOwn onboarding and offboarding for team members — acclimating new hires to the building and the team, and managing exits that often come with limited notice.Execute, organize, and streamline core operational tasks for the group.Lab and equipment logistics; distributing gear; supporting facility space allocation.Maintain information-sharing platforms and document repositories.Coordinate team events and activities (including physical setup).Monitor operations, catch issues early, and fix or escalate.Build simple tools and provide light technical support.Are There Any Immediate Disqualifiers or Red Flags That Stand Out?Unwilling or unable to be onsite in Redmond 5 days/week with morning availability.Fewer than 5 years of relevant operations experience.Resume reads as managerial or finance-ops focused rather than hands-on coordination.Weak written communication in application materials.Signals of unwillingness to do physical setup or routine repetitive work.Screening / Next StepsHow many rounds of interviews? 2 roundsTypes of Interviews: TBDInterview Duration: TBDAny upcoming PTO: N/AApplicant Notices & DisclaimersFor information on benefits, equal opportunity employment, and location-specific applicant notices, click here
