Quality Assurance Engineer

Pay Rate: $45.00 per hour - $50.00 per hour Work Schedule: Monday - Friday: 7:00AM - 4:00PM

Work Mode: On-site

Location: Glendale, CA

Responsibilities:

• Provide Quality Assurance support to customers and internal functions including Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Customers, and Suppliers.
• Support internal non-conforming material control process, including Material Review Board (MRB).
• Review and approve product drawings, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), manufacturing process plans, and First Article Reports (FAIRs).
• Oversee effective review, implementation, and flow down of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) into manufacturing and supply chain.
• Drive efficient processing of Customer RMAs, effective failure analysis, and responsive communication to Customers.
• Support internal and Customer system, process, and product audits.
• Develop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Support product proof-of-build (POB) activities and assist in the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Facilitate assembly and test process improvement and RCCA activities.
• Promote adherence to the company's Quality Management System (AS9100) and drive process and product improvements.
• Develop a system for clear reporting and maintaining accuracy of data in support of department KPIs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of quality engineering disciplines and manufacturing concepts.
• Problem-solving techniques, such as 8D, Fishbone, 5-why, PFMEA.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Glendale, CA will be considered.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with hydraulic/hydromechanical assembly and testing processes.
• Knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical data sheets, and schematics.
• Quality and Metrology knowledge.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and PDF readers (Word, Excel, Adobe/Firefox, Outlook, etc.).
• Communicate and interact with Engineering, Tool Room, and Production as necessary to promote specification compliance.
