Senior Accountant

Onsite | Temp-to-Hire
Pay: $35.00–$44.00 per hour

The Opportunity
Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the general accounting function of a manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with manufacturing accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of general ledger, standard costing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Manage daily cash activity, cash balances, cash forecasting, and bank reconciliations.
• Track and report capital expenditures.
• Prepare and post journal entries and journal vouchers.
• Maintain prepaid and accrued account balances and supporting documentation.
• Oversee invoice matching, expense coding, and invoice payments according to established terms.
• Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers to the General Ledger.
• Prepare and reconcile monthly related-party transactions.
• Maintain records for long-term agreements (LTAs) and ensure timely payments.
• Partner with the Controller on monthly financial statements and reporting.
• Prepare annual audit documentation and tax packages.
• Support BOM standard cost roll-ups and manufacturing cost accounting activities.
• Manage vendor records and 1099 reporting, including annual 1099 filings.
• Prepare monthly Sales & Use Tax filings.
• Complete annual regulatory filings, including property tax and BEA filings.
• Work directly with external auditors and provide requested financial documentation.
• Maintain organized accounting records and follow established workplace and 5S procedures.
• Cross-train in other accounting functions and support additional projects as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of general accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial statements, AP/AR, and month-end close.
• Manufacturing accounting and standard costing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) accounting modules preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with the Controller, auditors, and cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

• 100% onsite in Moonachie, New Jersey
• Office-based manufacturing environment
• Additional hours may occasionally be required around month-end, reporting deadlines, audits, and other critical accounting requirements .
• Flexible start/end time
