Industrial Market Sector Lead

Industrial Market Sector Leader Oversee and direct the growth of HDR's Industrial program in South Carolina, focusing on oil, gas, chemicals, and advanced manufacturing, with potential expansion into mining, aggregates, and agribusiness. Responsibilities Grow, monitor, and participate in the execution of HDR’s Industrial services portfolio in South Carolina. Partner with local and regional business development leaders to anticipate market trends and implement diversification strategies. Identify and pursue opportunities across design, consulting, advisory services, owners engineering, asset management, due diligence, and planning for clients such as gas utilities, developers, mining, and private industries. Establish effective external teaming relationships and represent HDR in industry associations and community organizations. Provide leadership and project management to ensure appropriate staffing and quality execution; serve as Principal-in-Charge or Project Manager as needed. Coordinate with the South Carolina Business Group Manager, Industrial Market Leaders, and Industrial Business Development Leaders to align resources, technical expertise, and marketing efforts. Drive client growth regionally, including recruiting and hiring staff to support business development and marketing plans. Support work‑sharing efforts with local operations, section managers, and business group leadership. Lead and motivate the staff to meet growth goals. Preferred Qualifications PE license or industry equivalent. PMP certification. Ability to travel for client and project meetings (up to 25%) and to meet with staff in South Carolina offices; regional meetings with key Industrial Market Sector leadership are required, with a preference for local candidates. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of industry experience. Experience in developing and managing strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services. Experience in managing a wide range of client relationships and program/project pursuits. Experience in overall staff development, including recruiting, career path, and professional growth. Experience with industry associations and a visible profile in the market sector. Ability to work cooperatively with cross‑functional leaders across regional and market sectors. Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and an active participant in the employee‑owned culture.
