Neonatal Pediatric Transport Registered Nurse- Clarksville

Discover Vanderbilt University Medical Center: Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the Critical Care Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a specialized & CAMTS accredited team that provides the highest level of care in ground and fixed‑wing transport to patients requiring the resources at the children’s hospital. The transport team consists of highly trained and qualified respiratory therapists, registered nurses, and EMTs that use their specialized knowledge and training to provide a well‑rounded approach to patient care. Being a registered nurse on the transport team provides the opportunity to not only enhance clinical skills but also plays a crucial role in improving patient outcomes during critical moments. Responsibilities Assess patients to identify clinical needs. Initiate and manage patient care per protocol during ground and fixed‑wing transport. Use medication pumps. Advanced cardiac monitoring. Initiate respiratory treatments and all modalities of respiratory support (NC, HFNC, BCPAP, BIPAP, MV). Support the RRT with high‑frequency ventilation and nitric oxide. Perform intubations. Perform needle decompressions. Insert low‑lying UVCs. Troubleshoot transport equipment. Work with the registered respiratory therapist and EMT on transport to provide patient care. Run blood gases and glucose checks per POCT guidelines and interpret results. Maintain competencies required by the institution, department, and CAMTs. Collaborate with receiving units at MCJCHV and referring facilities to coordinate patient transport. Operate within nursing scope of practice during transport. Collaborate in establishing the plan of care, coordinate and implement care delivery while anticipating patient needs across the continuum. Analyze comprehensive information pertinent to the patient’s care and management to determine nursing diagnosis. Utilize the nursing process to evaluate patient progress toward goals and apply appropriate interventions. Employ strategies to promote health and a safe, healthy environment. Qualifications Licensure: Registered Nurse. 3 years of experience in Pediatric ICU, CCU, ER, or NICU. At least 1 year of relevant work experience. Graduated from an approved discipline‑specific program. Relocation: available for candidates willing to relocate from more than 100 miles.
