Salary: Starting at $85,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager for an established manufacturing company in Arnold, Missouri.

This position is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control operations, maintaining quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing facility.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive or industrial manufacturing, proven leadership experience, and hands-on knowledge of quality systems, audits, corrective actions, and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Leadership

• Oversee daily quality assurance and quality control operations.
• Lead, train, and develop quality inspectors, technicians, and other quality personnel.
• Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, and performance expectations.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and management teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Promote continuous improvement and accountability throughout the manufacturing facility.

Quality Systems & Compliance

• Maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
• Coordinate and conduct internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
• Maintain quality documentation, inspection procedures, and compliance records.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
• Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Manufacturing Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Oversee quality processes involving metal stamping, plastic injection molding, and related manufacturing operations.
• Identify manufacturing defects, process inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
• Utilize quality tools including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Develop initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
• Monitor quality performance metrics and implement improvement strategies.

Customer & Supplier Quality

• Address customer quality concerns and coordinate corrective actions.
• Manage customer complaints, nonconforming products, and quality-related investigations.
• Oversee PPAP submissions, APQP activities, and customer-specific quality requirements.
• Work with suppliers to resolve material quality concerns.
• Maintain positive customer relationships through effective communication and timely problem resolution.

Inspection & Quality Control

• Oversee incoming material, in-process, and final product inspections.
• Ensure measuring instruments and inspection equipment are properly calibrated.
• Support dimensional inspections and interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Maintain product traceability and quality documentation.
• Ensure nonconforming materials are properly identified, documented, and controlled.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of quality assurance or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous supervisory or management experience overseeing quality personnel.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Experience with automotive or industrial manufacturing quality requirements.
• Working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, and corrective action processes.
• Experience conducting internal and external quality audits.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong understanding of root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with production, engineering, and management teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Experience in metal stamping, plastic injection molding, or high-volume manufacturing.
• ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
• Familiarity with CMM inspection, GD&T, and precision measuring equipment.
• Previous experience managing automotive customer quality requirements.
