About the Position

The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. The RN is also involved in mentoring and precepting staff. Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing plans of care is critical. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions is essential. Facilitating and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs is part of the role. The RN delegates tasks and functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrating and encouraging teamwork is essential. Identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in quality improvement efforts is expected. Compliance with regulatory standards is mandatory. Participation in the governance model is required.
