We are seeking to hire an experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic Denver-based team in our Civil Litigation Department. The candidate must be able to successfully handle a large volume of files and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and analysis and be interested in learning, litigating, and growing within a leading Colorado insurance defense practice.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, judges, physicians, other professionals, and internal team members, including senior attorneys, paralegals, and staff.

• Independently conduct legal research and analyze case law, rules, and statutes, including the Colorado Workers' Compensation Act and Rules of Procedure.

• Handle civil litigation matters, including preparing motions and defending depositions.

• Apply legal analysis to provide effective counsel to clients.

• Review and analyze voluminous medical records and discovery and prepare client summaries and status updates.

• Assist supervising attorneys with litigation preparation and strategy.

• Draft written discovery requests and responses.

• Complete document redaction.

• Conduct potential witness interviews.

• Address other litigation and discovery tasks as assigned on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado.

• Experience in workers' compensation and litigation.

• Experience in Colorado civil litigation is required.

• Superior writing and communication skills.

• Excellent organization and prioritization skills.

• Experience with medical terminology and language is preferred but not required.
