Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting 7th and 8th grade students at a junior high campus near McKinney, TX. This position focuses on educational diagnostics and special education—making a daily impact on student success from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll collaborate alongside an ARD facilitator, helping to ensure a thriving learning environment for students who need your expertise.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active Educational Diagnostician endorsement required (verify on the Texas Education Agency portal)
- Skilled in educational assessment, case management, and individualized education program (IEP) planning
- Demonstrated experience supporting middle school-aged students, particularly in special education settings
- Proficient with compliance, documentation, and coordination of ARD meetings
- Exceptional communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive school culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive student assessments and prepare evaluation reports
- Attend and contribute to ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, working closely with the campus ARD facilitator
- Manage a robust caseload of approximately 175-180 students, maintaining timely and accurate records
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administration, and families to support student learning goals
- Serve as a resource for faculty and staff regarding special education compliance and targeted interventions
