Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant provides clinical support in a Family Medicine outpatient setting, performing tasks such as rooming patients, conducting well child checks, administering immunizations, and assisting with procedures. The role also includes occasional front-office duties like patient check-in/check-out, phone coverage, scheduling, and managing patient messages to support clinic flow. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively within the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.

Responsibilities:

Room patients and prepare them for examinations
Conduct well child checks and wellness visits
Administer immunizations and assist with clinical procedures
Manage in-basket tasks and complete necessary paperwork
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes
Provide phone coverage and manage patient messages
Support overall clinic flow and assist front-office duties as needed
Chart patient information accurately using EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Skills & Certifications:

BLS certification
Medical Assistant certification (MA-C or MA-R)
Minimum 6 months of relevant healthcare experience
Knowledge of healthcare terminology
Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
Ability to work effectively in an outpatient adult clinic setting

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience in Family Medicine or outpatient clinics
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Special Considerations:

No on-call requirements
Compliance with strict attendance policies; no call no show will disqualify candidates from future opportunities
Must confirm availability for scheduled interview times prior to submission
Return to office (RTO) policies to be confirmed with hiring manager

Scheduling:

Monday: 8:00 AM - 3:40 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:20 PM
Thursday: Off
Friday: 9:40 AM - 2:40 PM
4 days per week, variable hours as listed
