Job Description

Job Title: MRI Technologist

City/State: Janesville, Wisconsin

Shift: Day Shifts - 2 x 12-hour shifts and 2 x 8-hour shifts, including weekend and call rotation

Contract Length: 84 weeks

Job Description:

Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts, weekends, and call as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned site(s). Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested.

Responsibilities:

• Performs procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation.
• Prepares patient for procedures and provides patient instruction to obtain desired results.
• Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
• Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system and associated equipment.
• Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest.
• Performs venipuncture, starts and maintains venous access.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and verifies consent/screening form.
• Assists the physician with interventional procedures and observes universal precautions.
• Evaluates images and data for technical quality and manipulates digital data for display.
• Uses radiology information systems and completes all required records and reports.
• Initiates basic life support action when necessary.
• Provides practical instruction to partners and students.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program - Education verification required
• Experience as an MRI Technologist
• ARRT Radiography registration required
• ARRT MRI registration required
• Approved BLS certification required
