Job Opportunity – Pediatric Critical Care Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 13-week assignment; 36 or 48 hours per week; Night shift; 3 weekends per six-week schedule; 2 out of 3 winter holidays required

Highlights:

• Combined pediatric cardiac and medical critical care unit with high census and high acuity patients
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity; 2:1 for highest acuity cases
• Epic EMR experience required; 24 hours of orientation provided
• Cardiac diagnoses include DORV, TOF, HLHS, Norwood procedures, TGA, and heart transplants
• Medical diagnoses include traumatic brain injury, respiratory illnesses, DKA, seizures, and post-operative transplant patients
• May float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care experience
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience strongly preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
