# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment, every other weekend and every other holiday

Highlights:

• Float Pool position rotating across multiple pediatric specialty units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Patient ratios vary by unit: 1:2 in PICU, 1:2 or 1:3 in NICU/ICN, 1:4 to 1:5 in Acute Pediatrics, variable in Pediatric ED based on patient acuity
• Epic electronic medical record system utilized across all units
• 60 hours of comprehensive orientation provided
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed; up to 40 hours of time off may be approved (not during first 2 weeks)
• Access to robust interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (may submit with pending license; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Previous NICU experience required; must be comfortable caring for neonatal patients
• Must be comfortable with general pediatrics across all age groups (neonates through adolescents)
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (may submit pending; $185 cost)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions
