# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Float Pool Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment. Every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.

Highlights:

• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother baby
• Patient ratios vary by unit: PICU 1:2, NICU/ICN 1:2 or 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5
• Epic charting system utilized across all units
• 60 hours of orientation provided at assignment start
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and child life specialists
• Up to 40 hours of time off may be approved during the contract; no RTO permitted during first 2 weeks

Requirements:

• Valid or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Previous experience in PACU, PICU, and NICU required; pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• NICU/PICU float pool experience strongly preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS
• Dr. Brown's Infant-Driven Feeding Certificate required (may submit with pending; $185 cost)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions available
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients across the age spectrum from neonates through adolescents
• BSN preferred
