Start Date: October 12, 2026

Schedule: Days, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment, every other weekend and every other holiday

Highlights:

• Float pool position rotating through various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Pediatric Medical-Surgical, Pediatric PACU, Pediatric ED boarders, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• Patient ratios: PICU 1:2, NICU 1:2-1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-1:5, variable in Pediatric ED based on acuity
• Epic EMR system utilized across all units
• 60 hours of comprehensive orientation with specialty-specific training modules
• Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and child life specialists
• Up to 40 hours of time off available after the first two weeks of assignment; block scheduling not available

Requirements:

• Valid Virginia RN license (may submit with pending license; must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• NICU experience required; must be comfortable caring for patients across all pediatric specialties
• Previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU settings highly preferred
• Pediatric PACU experience highly preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS required
• Dr. Browns Infant-Driven Feeding Certification required (may submit with pending; $185 cost applies)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Strong patient ratio experience with critical care pediatric populations
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Ability to adhere to facility float policies and float within scope of practice
• BSN preferred
