# Job Opportunity – NICU Registered Nurse (Level III/IV) – Virginia Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Schedule: Nights | 36 or 48 hours per week | 13 or 26 week assignment | 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period | Holiday coverage required (2 of 3 winter holidays) Highlights:

• 54-bed Level III/IV NICU with high-acuity patient population including extreme prematurity (22 weeks and above), cardiac anomalies, and complex neonatal diagnoses
• Advanced technology including ECMO, high-frequency ventilation, iNO, whole body cooling, and comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 for ICU patients, 1:3 for stepdown patients
• Epic charting system with 36-hour orientation period
• Float opportunities to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery within scope of practice
• Comprehensive clinical skill development with exposure to cutting-edge neonatal care procedures

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV highly preferred (floating experience does not fulfill this requirement)
• Current RN license in Virginia (pending accepted, must be in-hand by Wednesday before start date)
• BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (can be pending at submission; $200 cost)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Strong proficiency with high-frequency ventilators, conventional ventilators, iNO, trachs, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP, IV drips, hemodynamic support, post-op care, whole body cooling, IV placements, lab draws, wound/drain/line care, ostomy care, and medication calculations
• Experience with patient age groups: neonates and infants
• BSN preferred
