Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13 or 26 week contracts available. Float coverage to PICU, Pediatrics, Postpartum, and Labor & Delivery as needed. Weekend requirement of 3 weekends per 6-week scheduling period; 2 of 3 winter holidays required.

Highlights:

• Level III/IV NICU with 54-bed unit and 1:2-1:3 patient ratios on nights
• Advanced clinical care including high frequency ventilation, iNO therapy, whole body cooling, ECMO, and tracheostomy management
• Comprehensive patient population from extreme prematurity (22+ weeks) to complex cardiac, neurologic, and surgical cases
• Epic charting system with 36 hours of paid orientation
• Interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
• Maximum 40 hours of time off available per contract (not available during first two weeks or around Christmas)

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Virginia (pending licenses accepted if obtained by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV highly preferred
• Experience with 1:3 patient ratios
• BLS and NRP certifications required at time of submission
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification required (may be pending at submission)
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong clinical competency in high frequency ventilators, conventional ventilators, iNO, tracheostomy care, NIPPV/NIMV, CPAP/BiPAP, IV drips, hemodynamic support, postoperative care, whole body cooling, IV placement, and lab draws
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• BSN preferred
• Nursys verification and professional references required
