Position Purpose Perform numerous teller functions—including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, and savings bonds—while promoting the bank’s products and services and delivering excellent customer service. Essential Functions and Basic Duties Represent the bank in a courteous and professional manner. Receive and process deposits, loan payments, checks, and negotiable instruments. Examine documents for endorsements and negotiability. Process transfers between accounts and conduct online teller terminal transactions. Sell traveler’s checks, official checks, money orders, and credit card cash advances. Verify and balance cash daily; detect and resolve discrepancies promptly. Offer additional bank products to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships. Maintain fewer than one proof error per 30‑day period. Follow teller procedures consistently and adhere to compliance requirements. Assist area personnel, provide training or orientation, and keep supervisors informed of activities. Complete required reports and records accurately and on time. Attend meetings and training classes, including evenings and Saturdays as required. Perform night drop, clerical duties, and maintain clean, secure work areas. Cross‑sell bank products and services. Performance Measurements Teller functions are executed efficiently, effectively, and accurately according to policy. Cash is balanced and discrepancies resolved promptly; balancing records meet standards. Good business relations with clients; client concerns are resolved courteously and promptly. Positive working relationships with area personnel; coordination with management is maintained. Reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely. Consistently seeks opportunities to develop new and strengthen existing client relationships. Bank’s professional reputation is upheld and conveyed. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. At least one year of related cash‑handling experience (previous teller experience preferred). Understanding of bank operations (preferred). Proficiency in: Mentor Program, All required training and webinars in 90‑day plan, GS3 Program, Precision, Integrated Teller—Advanced functions (split, cash advance, CC, etc.), CTR/MIL understanding, IVIEW, Product Knowledge, SCO, ATM Balancing, WITS/Wires (minimum domestic), Risk Management Skill, Dual Control. Strong communication, professional appearance, and attitude. Good math, typing, and computer skills; ability to operate cash‑handling equipment. Physical Requirements Talking – convey detailed instructions accurately and clearly. Average hearing – normal conversation and information reception. Finger dexterity – small movements such as typing and operating counting machines. Repetitive motion – frequent wrist, hand, and finger movements. Average visual abilities – adequate vision for document inspection and equipment operation. Physical strength – sedentary work; occasional exertion of up to 10‑25 lbs. Work environment – typical office with no hazardous conditions. Mental Requirements Reasoning ability – apply common sense to detailed instructions and problem resolution. Mathematics ability – basic arithmetic, decimals, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation. Language ability – use a passive vocabulary of 5,000‑6,000 words; read, write, and converse in complex sentences.
