Associate or Full Professor, Gastrointestinal Oncology

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the University of Washington jointly recruit a full‑time faculty member at the Associate Professor or Professor level, without tenure, in the Clinical Research Division and the Division of Hematology and Oncology, Department of Medicine. The primary appointment is at Fred Hutch. The selected individual will contribute to the mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research in gastrointestinal oncology. All clinical and translational research experiences will be considered; expertise in gastrointestinal malignancies is highly desirable. Faculty will engage in teaching, research and service, with teaching responsibilities that include oversight of advanced practice providers and fellows during inpatient and outpatient rotations, and delivery of informal teaching sessions and formal lectures to providers and the general medical community. Faculty are expected to perform their primary activities on‑site at Fred Hutch. Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focusing on cancer and infectious diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute‑designated cancer center in Washington. Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical research on gastrointestinal malignancies, including endoscopic and other modalities to prevent, diagnose and treat GI cancers.
• Teach advanced practice providers, fellows, and medical providers through hands‑on rotations, informal sessions and formal lectures.
• Perform service duties and contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic community.
• Perform primary activities on‑site at Fred Hutch and commit to a 12‑month service period (July 1 – June 30).

Qualifications MD/DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Board certification in Medical Oncology or Hematology/Oncology (or foreign equivalent). Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Record of research in gastrointestinal malignancies with peer‑reviewed publications. Active clinical research interest and demonstrated experience in the application of endoscopic and other modalities. Application Instructions CV.
